Toy Global Village Voice, an electronic newsletter for
the World Yee community. In this issue we are

YFT Boston/NE Parents' Day Celebration
YFT
Boston/NE Chapter celebrated its annual Parents' Day
at the Association on Sunday June 2nd. Many members
and their families attended this annual event.
Grand
Elder Peter (¶W¸s) handed
out a scholarship to Valerie Goldstein, daughter of
Lyla Yee and granddaughter of member Mrs. Gen Yuen
Yee. Valerie was not able to attend the New Year
banquet this year so she attended our Parents¡¦ Day
event to receive her scholarship.
Also
handed out was a $100 lucky red envelope to Mrs.
Henry Yee (who turned 90 this year), widow of late
Grand Elder Henry Yee (¥K©ù).
Much of the food was made by our Women¡¦s Group
members and was topped off by a huge cake to honor
all our parents/grandparents.

Celebration
Our
Singapore Yee Clan Youth Group and Women Group
organized the Family Day and Duanwu Jie (better
known as Dragon Boat Festival) event at the East
Coast Park BBQ Pit No: D25.
On
Sunday, June 9th, 2024, barbecue started from 12
noon. There were about 100 members and their
families turned up for this event.
With such a large selection of food, beers and
soft drinks, everyone was happy.

Ching Yu Led Delegation of 40 to Roaping
Mr.
Seng Ching Yu, chairman of the 8th The World Yee
Family Association, led a delegation of 40 from
the ¡§Overseas Chinese Association of Thailand¡¨ and
the ¡§Yu Clansman Association of Thailand¡¨ to visit
and socialize with the Yu clan of Raoping County.
Raoping County is a county in eastern Guangdong
Province, bordering Fujian Province to the east,
and facing the South China Sea to the south. It is
under the jurisdiction of the prefecture-level
city of Chaozhou. Chaoshan Min and Hakka are
spoken in Raoping.

Columbus Yees Welcome Advisor
Sherman Yu and Family Members
On
July 5 (Friday), the Yee clan of Columbus welcomed
Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Yu, Advisor of the US Yee
Fung Toy Family Association Headquarters, and
their family members to visit the Columbus Yees.
Ms.
Jan Jay, a 98 year old Columbus YFT member showed
up to attend the gathering. It was her two sons
that brought her to attend so she can meet with
other members in Columbus plus the Advisor from
Headquarters. They had fun rejoining each other.

DYFTFA Summer Picnic and
Scholarship Event
On
Sunday, 7/7/24 the Detroit Yee Fung Toy Family
Association celebrated the academic achievements
of our young Yee scholars at our annual Summer
Picnic and Scholarship Event. It was a festive
occasion for over 180 attendees and a great
opportunity for young and old alike, to see and
have fellowship with our Yee cousins
With
the help of donors and friends, we awarded
scholarships to 73 students from Preschool to
Post-Graduate. And everyone was treated to a
delicious lunch of Beef Chow Fun, Yang Chow Fried
Rice, Beef and Mushrooms, Fried Chicken, Honey
Walnut Shrimp, Orange Chicken, and a local
favorite, Little Caesars Pizza. To satisfy
everyone¡¦s sweet tooth, we also included delicious
chocolate chip cookies, and the always popular,
¡§Ice Cream Cart¡¨ with our Treasurer, Ray Yee
acting as the ¡§Good Humor Man¡¨.
Prior
to and after lunch, attendees enjoyed competitive
games like the Ring Toss, Saran Wrap Challenge,
Relays, Mahjong, DYFTFA Jeopardy, and our own
iconic ¡§DYFTFA Balloon Toss¡¨. To end the day, we
included a traditional good luck ¡§Hong Bao¡¨ for
all attendees. In addition, we were honored to
welcome Sherman, Margaret, and Douglas Yu from the
Yee Fung Toy Family Association, Headquarters,
USA, in San Francisco.

Washington DC Picnic
Washington DC Yee Fung Toy Association hosted a
midsummer outing gala event at the Wheaton
Regional Park in Maryland on Saturday, July 13th,
2024.
We
had a four-year hiatus of activities, due to the
COVID-19 epidemic which upended many people's work
lives and leisure time.
This
year is a resumption of our outdoor activities.
Everyone had a really great time for this
get-together, the food was very delicious and
scrumptious, everyone enjoyed this happy week end
outing.

2024 Picnic
On
July 14th, Yee Family Association picnic at
William Land Park was attended by members,
families, relatives and friends, with music, free
lunch, lucky draw and other programs. That day
weather were milder than previous days, everyone
seems enjoyed the outing and social happiness
until 2pm.

Boston¡¦s YFT Successful Outing at
AmVets Post 79
Another successful outing at AmVets Post 79 for
Boston¡¦s YFT Chapter on Saturday, July 20. Over
100 members and their families attended.
This
year we put our chefs to work, cooking 250 skewers
of delicious teriyaki, 80 pounds of chicken wings,
hot dogs, and clams. The clams were donated by
Happy Family Food Market¡Xmany thanks to them.
Many
side dishes like pizza, pasta salad, brownies,
cookies, watermelon, and ice cream were served. No
one went home hungry.
As in
previous years Elder Peter ¤¸
¦Ñ§E¶W¸s and Grand President Kenneth ¬üªFÁ`ªø§E¤å³Õ donated all the
cash prizes for the games like put-put golf and
ball tosses. Over 50 raffle prizes were handed
out!

Columbus YFT Midsummer Outing Gala
The
Midsummer Outing Gala at Highbanks Metro Park on
Sunday, August 11 was undoubtedly a successful and
memorable event.
This
event was jointly organized by the Ohio Chinese
School, Columbus Yee Fung Toy Association and the
Columbus Cantonese Association, attracting more
than 400 participants.
This
event not only provided an opportunity for
everyone to relax and socialize, but also further
deepened the connection and friendship between
community members, and we look forward to more
such opportunities in the future!

Stockton Yee Fung Toy Association
2024 Summer Picnic
Stockton Yee Fung Toy Association Summer Picnic
was held on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at an idyllic
picnic spot - Victory Park in Stockton.
The
outing began at 11:30 a.m., starting with some
group photos, followed by an opening speech by our
chapter's president Yihua, in which he cordially
greeted all the clan relatives, friends and
leaders of various Chinese associations.
It was
a pleasure to welcome the newly elected US YFT
western grand president, Sherman Yu and his wife
to our event and have fun together. In his speech,
grand president Sherman said that he would not
disappoint the expectations of the US Yee Family
Association, and would do his best to maintain and
strengthen close ties with all the branches, and
strive to do a good job as the western grand
president.
There
were plenty traditional picnic dishes for the
outing, including fried chicken prepared by our
President Yihua Yu (The "Chop Chop Restaurant"
owner donated a large box of chicken drumsticks to
our chapter for this event), and two large
aluminum containers of chow fun, as well as
mille-feuille cake, hometown "Buqinteng" glutinous
rice cake, a large plate of spring rolls, pot
stickers, donuts, pizzas, scallops and egg white
fried rice and two large sweet watermelons, a
large box of Denmark cookies, all donated by
chapter members and friends.
After
lunch, the Stockton Yee Fung Toy association held
a lucky draw, which pushed everyone's enthusiasm
to a climax. Congratulations to all the lucky
winners. Then, clan relatives and friends took a
group photo in the beautiful Victory Park.
Finally, the clansmen and friends shook hands with
a happy mood and said goodbye, wishing each other
a safe, healthy, and happiness! See everyone again
next year!
