    Message from the Editor
What is in the Next Issue?
Welcome to the 58th issue of the Yee Fung Toy Global
Village Voice, an electronic newsletter for the World
Yee community. In this issue we are featuring some of the Winter activities from the Yee associations around the world, such as New YFT Board installations, Christmas parties and Spring banquets. The next World Yee Family Association Convention will
be held in Thailand in 2021. The Yu Clan Association
of Thailand's delegation will be in Hong Kong to
officially accept the World Yee Host City Flag. Other
members of the World Yee Family Association will be in
Hong Kong on Saturday, April 13 to congratulate the Yu
Clan Association of Thailand. And now, we'd like to thank all contributors, and
remind anyone who wants to become a contributor that
they can email us their reports and photos of events
and activities from their locale. And we thank all those who have made contributions to this issue, including:

(MoKai Secondary School) Celebrates its 33rd
Anniversary on December 7th, 2018. Taishan vice Mayor Zhang
Huilin and the officials of the various
government departments, Baisha Town leaders,
the president of the World Yee Family
Association, the honorary chairman of Wuxi
Middle School, Mr. Johnson Yee, the chairman
of the Yue Clansmen Association of Hong
Kong, the chairman of Wuxi Middle School,
Yue Wei Ming, and invited guests, Yu's clan,
alumni, Wuxi Middle School teachers and
students and parents representatives and so
on to celebrate this festive day, and
jointly witness the "Yee Siu Kee
Multi-functional Auditorium" launched.

Singapore Yee Clan 89th Anniversary Celebration & Dinner                   After months of meticulous preparations, collaborations and logistics to organize this year’s anniversary celebration, the D-day had finally arrived. Credits go to Ms. Yee Chai Yian and her dedicated and passionate team. On Dec 8th 2018,
members and their families started
streaming into Ban Heng @ Harbourfront
Restaurant. Other kinship clans were
invited. A total of 48 tables were
occupied. Mr. Yee Chia Hsing (余家興) Member of
Parliament, Chua Chu Kang GRC was invited
as our VIP to grace our celebration. Scholarships were
awarded to deserving students, lucky draws
given away and a professional band to
entertain us. Members were happy and
satisfied - a completely successful
conclusion to this year’s celebration. More photographs may be

Inauguration of New England YFT 2019 Officers      On
Sunday, December 16th, 2018, New England
YFT celebrated Winter Solstice with a
traditional tong-yun soup made by our
own members. We also installed our
new 2019 officers. YFT members arrived
early to help make the dumplings and
soup from scratch. Many members and VIP
friends from the community showed up for
the event.

Sacramento YFT 2018 Christmas Party    On Sunday, December
23rd, 2018, the halls of the
Sacramento Yee Fung Toy Family
Association added colorful Christmas
decorations. Our members came with
their children and grandchildren, over
200 people attended this year’s
Christmas Celebration. 60 children
under the age of 13 received gifts,
love and encouragement from Santa. Thank you to all the
volunteers who made this event
successful! You can see them setting
up the tables, serving food, eating in
the kitchen and cleaning up
afterwards! Please say thank you, next

Installation of Sacramento YFT Presidents Guo Xi Yu and Hok Cheung Yee  The
inauguration of 2019 Sacramento Yee Fung Toy
Officers was held at the Association Hall on
Sunday, December 30th, 2018. After
paying homage to our ancestor at noon, the
Inauguration Ceremony began, Guo Xi Yu and Hok
Cheung Yee were installed as our Chapter's new
President and Vice President. Congratulations!
Refreshments followed. A general meeting was
held afterwards. Later
that evening, a dinner party for retiring and
newly elected officers and their spouses was
held at the Well Season Chinese Cuisine

New Year's Concert at the Dihai Fung Toy Hall     The
Kaiping City's New Year concert was held in
DiHai Fung Toy Hall on Saturday, January 19th,

Singapore Yee Clan End of Singing Lessons Semester Competition         
After more than 3 years of intensive
coaching by our maestro teacher, Mr. Huang
Liangqing, members of our Yee Clan
Association singing class had shown quantum
leaps in their vocal agility and performing
confidence. To
test out their newly acquired singing
prowess, a competition was organized on
Friday, January 25th. The class was divided
into a Red and a White groups. These 2
groups then face-off with each other with
their best repertoire of songs.
Irregardless of who won the competition, it
was a fun night and everyone enjoyed the

Hong Kong Yue Executive Members Visit Senior Members

Clansman visited three senior members on
Monday, January 28th.

Thailand Yu Clansmen Visits the Khorat Yu Clan      
On Feb 28 to March 3, Thailand YU
Clansmen lead by our chairman, Mr. Seng
Ching Yu, traveled to North Thailand,
Khao Kho and Phu Tub Berk (Phu Tub Berk
is the tallest mountain within the
province of Petchabun, with a height of
almost 1,800 meters). We
visited the Wat Pha Sorn Kaew Temple, a
Buddhist Temple. We took some photos
beside the White Buddha statue. We
then travel to Khorat for the annual
gathering with the YU Clansmen of
Khorat.
