Welcome to the 73rd issue of the Yee Fung
Toy Global Village Voice, an electronic newsletter for
the World Yee community. In this issue we are
featuring Autumn activities from the Yee family
associations around the world. I hope you and your loved ones are keeping well. As another year comes to a close, we¡¦d like to take this opportunity to extend our wishes to you and your family, for a most wonderful Holiday Season. Thank you for your continued support. We are proud to serve such loyal and discerning readers. The holiday season is a perfect time to connect with loved ones, reflect on the year that was, and give back where we can. Unfortunately as we are all aware, the Covid-19 new variant "Omicron" situation continues to evolve with a rapid increase in case numbers across the country and the world. As we head into the holiday season and with the Omicron variant presenting increased risk, I am reaching out to each of you with the ask to stay cautious and diligent. With the continued need for physical distancing, mask-wearing and rigorous hand washing. And in keeping with the Provincial, State and Government Health Officer¡¦s orders, we encourage you to celebrate only with those in your households, and avoid non-essential travel. We wish you all a happy, healthy, safe holiday. We thank all those who have made contributions to this issue, including:
Martin Yee, Vancouver The Yee Clan Association of Singapore¡¦s Mid-Autumn Festival CelebrationThe combined efforts of our Youth and Women sub-committees organized this year¡¦s Mid-Autumn Festival on the 10th September 2022 at 6.00pm. Our desire to add more space to this function, the organizer applied to the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) to rent four car-park lots along Bukit Pasoh Road, fronting our Association building. A marquee was then set up for this function. We
were happy to welcome a total of 123 members -
Management Committee, members and their families,
to our second major family event after the easing
of the Covid-19 mandatory restrictions. The event ended at 9.30pm. All our members and their families had a very enjoyable time and they look forward to the next event!

Edmonton Yee Mid Autumn Celebration
After more than two years
of Covid-19 hiatus, we finally decided that we
would organize a gathering. Mid Autumn
Festival is traditionally a time for friends
and family to gather together to celebrate,
and we did just that. Instead of having over a hundred people gather in such a crowded space, we prepared the lunch box, fruit and a moon cake for each person to take out or to eat-in if they wish. The party was successful and friends and family were very happy to see each other again. Jerome Yu, Edmonton
The
Yee Picnic was a success and fun for all
members, family, friends that was held
last Sunday for the first time at Indian
Steel Park. About 120 people showed up for
the event and it¡¦s been 2 years that the
Yee Family have had the festivities
cancelled because of COVID. You didn¡¦t get hungry for this picnic because everyone enjoyed picnic food such as grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, fried chicken and Chinese dishes for everyone. Lucy Ross and her team made sure everyone had plenty to eat. She said, ¡§The food at the picnic made everyone happy and it was important that we fed all the families and the many kids that showed up.¡¨ All the kids were all smiles as each received a prized toy to enjoy, a water balloon fight, and fishing at the nearby lake. A raffle organized by Fred and Paul Yee was won by many individuals attending the picnic and everyone took home a prize. National Yee Fung Toy Western Grand President Kenny Yee, his wife Phillis and son Joshua drove from Los Angeles to attend the Yee picnic: ¡§I am honored to be in here in Phoenix for this special occasion and be with my Yee family and friends¡¨, said Kenny Yee. ¡§My relationship with the Yee Family here is very important to me and I will help them with anything they need here in the Valley.¡¨ It's been a couple of years that COVID did away with the Yee Fung Toy Family Picnic and now it is back for everyone to enjoy. The late John M. Yee was the person who created the Yee picnic and it was he who said it was time to get the whole Chinese Community together and enjoy each other¡¦s company and talk about the latest family news.

Next up was a short bus
tour a week later to Whitecourt, a small
town, where we visited the RCMP Memorial
Park at Mayerthorpe, the Casino at
Whitecourt and finally a Hutterite farm
nearby on our return to Edmonton on
Saturday, September 17th. We concluded the day having
dinner at the All Happy Family Chinese
restaurant which was run by Ying Wah's old
high school pal. Of course, we got the
special treatment with plenty of delicious
food. The last picture was from the Mid Autumn celebration where the lady, Pat Lee, on the left brought a message and a picture from Frank Yee's older brother Pun Yau from Hong Kong.

Professor Peter Hoi Fu Yu Visits YFT Society of Canada and YFT Society of VancouverProfessor Peter Hoi Fu Yu, the current Vice President of the Hong Kong Yue Clansmen Association and Deputy Chief Supervisor of the Hong Kong Five Tong Association, along with his elder brother Charles and his wife Molly, came to visit the Yee Fung Toy Society of Canada and the Yee Fung Toy Society of Vancouver on Sunday, September 18th. Grand President Kan Yu, Vice Grand President Wayne Bon Yee, Chairman Bill Yee, Vice Chairman Jim Yee, Vancouver Chairman Phillip Yu and other board members welcome them. After a short ancestor ceremony, we went to the Floata Seafood Restaurant for a delicious lunch and a friendly chat.
Martin Yee, Vancouver
East Coast Grand President Kenneth MP Yee was honored by the Kwong Know Chinese School on September 23, 2022, at their annual gala. The event
was attended by close to 400 guests. Among them, three
out of five of Kenneth¡¦s children flew from California
to attend (Ann, Angela and Kevin). Boston¡¦s
Mayor Michelle Wu (also Committee Chair) presented the
award to Kenneth. Included are pictures from the event,
some taken by journalist Learner Liu of The Epoch Times
and others taken by various community members. Also
included is a
write up detailing Kenneth¡¦s many years of service
to the Chinatown community. Congratulations Grand President Kenneth!
Karen Yee, Boston
Advisor
Sherman Yu from San Francisco¡¦s Headquarters visited the
Boston Chapter with his wife Margaret on September 27. Grand Elder
Peter Yee and his wife Lina picked them up from their
hotel and brought them to the Association to meet up
with our officers and advisors. Then we all went to dim sum where Grand President Kenneth MP Yee and his wife May were waiting for us. Everyone had a wonderful time reuniting with our guests from the west coast.

It was a
beautiful Sunday on October 2nd for our Detroit Yee Fung
Toy Harvest Festival event at Upland Hills
Farm. Fifty
people attended and enjoyed a full day of Fall family
activities ¡V hayrides, magic shows, farm shows, pony
rides, duck feeding, cow milking, a pumpkin patch, and
seeing a wide variety of farm animals. There was a lunch
of pizza, pulled pork sandwiches and salad, and of
course, there was cider and donuts. A fun day was had by all ¡V especially the kids! Photos

Currently the Covid-19 pandemic situation in this part of the world has improved and stabilized. Prompting governmental lifting of cross boarders travel restrictions, which makes us all super happy. This trip was our first organized travel, outside Singapore, this year ¡V a long awaited pressure release. On October 1st, 19 members boarded a tour coach and headed for Malacca, Malaysia. Although we had been there several times before, Malacca was a convenient destination for an overnight trip. (Only 3 hours drive, discounting the massive jams at immigration stops). However, everyone was delighted feasting on the local cuisines, shopping for local produce. Can¡¦t wait for the next tour!

Yee Fung
Toy Association of NE celebrated Thanksgiving with many
of our members on Sunday November 13. About 50
members attended the event and everyone enjoyed a whole
day of eating, beginning with a full turkey and ham
dinner, many side dishes and tons of desserts made by
our members. Nothing went to waste as we saved all the turkey bones and made two huge pots of congee for all to enjoy. After all the eating was done, most of our members stayed and talked to one another to catch up as many of them have not seen each other for a long time.
