Welcome to the 56th issue
of the Yee Fung Toy Global Village Voice, an electronic
newsletter for the World Yee community. In this issue we
are featuring Summer activities from the Yee family
associations around the world.
The 7th World Yee
Convention and The 26th US Yee Fung Toy Family
Association were held successfully from August 11th -
August 14th, 2018 - in San Francisco, California, USA.
The next World Yee Family
Association Convention will be held in Thailand and the
US National Yee Fung Toy Family Association Convention
host city will be Washington DC. Both conventions will
be held in 2021.
We welcome more Yee

Hong Kong Yue Clansmen Association
Visits Thailand Yu Clan
On June 12,
the Hong Kong Yue Clansmen Association members
visited the Yu Clan of Thailand. We welcomed them at
our Association, after the Ancestor ceremony at our
Association Hall, the Thailand Yu Clan and the Hong
Kong Yue clansmen enjoyed a delicious and authentic
Thai cuisine lunch and dinner arranged by our
President, Seng Ching Yu.

From June
11 to 14th, The Hong Kong Yues Clansmen Association
members, led by World Yee Family Association
founder, Mr. Johnson Yee,
香港余氏宗親會副會長柏齡、理事長偉明、副理事長仲元 and 副監事長燊茂, traveled to Thailand
for a four days vacation and to visit the Thailand
Yu Clan Association.
The aim is
to promote cultural exchanges and to improve
understanding and cooperation between the Yue and Yu
clans, as both Yue and Yu are of the same ancestor
root and members of the World Yee Family
Association.

Sacramento YFT celebrated Dragon Boat
Festival
Sacramento
Yee Fung Toy Association celebrated the Dragon Boat
Festival on June 10th.
Over 200
Members attended this annual event, at noon, we pay
homage to our ancestor, then the Yee Association
awarded our elderly members who were 75 years old or
older and in good membership standing a lucky red
envelope and all recipients posed for a group
picture. Followed by a buffet lunch.
The same
evening, a celebration dinner was held at the Well
Season Restaurant on Bruceville 7 Road, Elk Grove at
7:00 pm.

Singapore Yee Clan Celebrates Duanwu
Jie
This was
the first time Yee Clan Association held the
Duanwu Jie or better known as Dragon Boat
Festival. 87 members and their families turned up on
Sunday, June 17th to celebrate this event.
Behind the
scene was our very efficient Zhang Qing and his
brothers were busy preparing food. Yuke Lin sourced
some very popular Hokkien,
Nonya style and salted duck's egg yolk rice
dumplings. Mary home-made a large number of
alkaline rice dumplings.
Beautiful
Xi Mei compered the event, games, and singing
sessions. Our eloquent, Peng Kwang explained the
legend of Duanwu Jie and the immortal
Qu Yuan to our younger members.
All of us
had an exciting and good time. Big thank you to all
and anyone not mentioned above but helped to make
this event a great success.

Thailand Yu Clan Visits Thailand
Shaanxi Association
President
Seng Ching Yu of the Thailand Yu Clan Association,
led a delegation of 7 to visit the Thailand Shaanxi
Association on June 26th.
We were
warmly greeted by the hospitable President of
Thailand Shaanxi Association, Mr. Yu Xinqi and his
friendly staff.
After a
friendly chat, we all went out for a delicious
lunch.

Annual Picnic
Happy 4th
of July to all!
The Yee
Fung Toy Association of Chicago celebrates our
nation's independence with our 29th annual Fourth of
July picnic in Vernon Hills, this is a very popular
and well attended event each year, It was a success
with estimated 150 attending.

Our Annual
picnic was held on Sunday, July 8th from 11:00am to
2:00pm at William Land Park, Area GA11-12 (next to
Fairy Town). Picnic lunches were provided for
everyone, exciting raffle drawing after lunch.

Houston Yee 2018 Scholarship
Presentation
The Yee
Fung Toy Association of Houston annual summer party
and scholarship awards was held at the DoubleDave's
Pizzaworks on Saturday afternoon, July 14, 2018.
We had
total of 53 adults and 5 children in attendance, we
also had 9 Scholarship recipients. Everyone had a
wonderful time.

2018 Detroit Yee Fung Toy Association
Annual Picnic
The annual
Detroit Yee Fung Toy Association family picnic was
held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Handy Park in
Redford, Michigan. About 40 of our Yee cousins and
friends were in attendance to enjoy some fun and
food and to honor our young scholars with
scholarship checks.
The annual
Picnic goers enjoyed a lunch of homemade soup,
pizza, fried chicken, beef with broccoli, chicken lo
mein, and various baked goods. After lunch, there
were several games, including a football-thru-ring
throw, balloon dart throw, and a balloon toss game.
In addition
to scholarship checks, each student received a
commemorative glass tumbler created/donated by
member Bee Hai Wong. To conclude the picnic, door
prizes were raffled off to those in attendance.
Several of the door prize gifts were generously
donated by Da Zhong Food Market.

New England YFT Chapter’s Summer
Outing 2018
Another
successful YFT of New England’s summer outing at
AmVets Post in Natick this past Sunday, July 22nd.
Over 100 members and guests attended for a lobster
feast and other food.
The rain
put a damper on things at first but when we moved
the party indoors, lots of fun was had by all with
music, dancing, and raffle prizes.
Thanks to
all the volunteers who cooked and served the food.

Macau Wo Sing 2018 Yee Jing Chinese
Opera Gala
Organized
by the Macau Wo Sing Chinese Opera 澳門和聲戲劇曲藝會 and Yu Mei Siu, the
Yee Jing Opera Gala will be held at the 永樂戲院 Cinema Alegria on August
28 and the 19th Anniversary celebration of the
transfer of sovereignty of Macau from the Portuguese
Republic to the People's Republic of China (PRC),
which occurred on 20 December 1999.

Conventions Completed Successfully
The 7th
World Yee Family Association Convention and the 26th
US Yee Family Association National Convention were
successfully concluded on August 14, 2018. The
Conventions were held in San Francisco, California
from August 11 to August 14.
The next
World Yee Family Association Convention will be held
in Thailand and the US National Yee Fung Toy Family
Association Convention host city will be Washington
DC. Both conventions will be held in 2021. For all

Association 2018 Picnic
The
Southern California Yee Family Association held its
Annual Picnic on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Barnes
Park, Monterey Park, CA. Over 140 Yee’s gathered on
a perfectly warm but not blazing hot Southern
California day.
Our
President Jing Han Yu greeted our guest and also
introduced our special guest, Kenneth M. Yee (Yee
Fung Toy Eastern Grand President), and Kenny Yee
(Yee Fung Toy Western Grand President).
We enjoyed
great food as well as a morning tai chi exercise
session lead by Thomas as well as a raffle (hosted
by Grand Elder Alan Yee and his wife Edith Yee) and
variety of games for the youth. The water balloon
toss turned into a water balloon fight but we will
not blame Vice President John Yu, English Secretary
Warren Yee or Next Generation Chair Chao Yu for the
ruckus.
