Yee Fung Toy Association of Southern California ¡X Spring Banquet

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, under the leadership of Chairman Jiang Feng, the Yee Fung Toy Association of Southern California held its Spring Banquet and Bingwu (Fire Horse) New Year celebration in Los Angeles. The day commenced with a lion dance to welcome the spring season.

In the evening, the Association hosted 26 banquet tables and welcomed approximately 260 clan members and guests to mark the new year and strengthen clan fellowship.

At noon, in front of the Association on Hill Place in Chinatown, the sound of gongs and drums accompanied the arrival of the lion dance. Board members then conducted a solemn ancestral worship ceremony in the main hall.

The ceremony honored the ancestral instruction of Yee Jing¡X ¡§Fung Toy is the best¡¨¡Xas a tribute to tradition and the Association¡¦s founding principles. The customary ¡§dotting the eyes¡¨ and ¡§picking the green¡¨ ceremonies followed, conveying wishes for vitality, steady progress, and good fortune in the year ahead.

Following the ceremony, the Board of Directors convened to review the Association¡¦s work and discuss plans and priorities for the new year. The meeting reaffirmed the Association¡¦s commitment to strengthening clan connections, advancing scholarship and community service initiatives, and encouraging participation by younger members.

Established in 1931, Fung Toy Tong has long served as a cornerstone and gathering place for the Yee clan in Southern California, sustaining the ¡§Fung Toy¡¨ spirit for future generations.

The Spring Banquet was held that evening at the Monterey Palace Restaurant. Festive decorations and lanterns set an appropriate celebratory tone throughout the banquet hall.

On the main screen, ¡§Southern California Yee Fung Toy Association Spring Banquet¡¨ was displayed against a red background featuring fireworks and lantern motifs, alongside the Association emblem. Red table linens with gold accents completed the formal setting.

As members and guests arrived, the hall quickly became a venue for greetings and reunion, with four generations represented in attendance. The program commenced with welcoming remarks from the host.

Addresses by the Chairman followed, reviewing highlights from the past year and expressing appreciation for the continued support of members and the broader community.

A multi-course banquet was served, and members exchanged toasts in a spirit of respect for ancestral virtues and shared heritage. A slide presentation reviewed the Association¡¦s activities over the past year.

The presentation featured more than 300 photographs from spring and autumn ancestral worship ceremonies, outings and gatherings, cultural heritage events, and community service, providing a meaningful record of the Association¡¦s ongoing work.

The evening program included singing and dance performances, as well as a raffle.

Representatives from the Yee Fung Toy Family Association Headquarters (USA), and the Yee Fung Toy Family Associations of Sacramento and Salt Lake City, attended to extend congratulations. Their participation, together with that of local members, ¡§Embody the deep friendship of 'one vein across the four seas.¡¨

Bingwu¡Xthe Year of the Fire Horse¡Xsymbolizes forward momentum and steadfast purpose. During the banquet, members reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the spirit of their ancestors through unity and mutual support.

Guided by integrity and sustained by thoughtful renewal, the Association will continue to advance its programs, serve its members, and contribute to the broader overseas Chinese community.
