Welcome to the 41st
issue of the Yee Fung Toy Global Village Voice, an
electronic newsletter for the World Yee community. In
this issue we are featuring some of the Autumn
activities from the Yee associations around the world.
We launched our online
quarterly newsletter in December 2014, for a decade now,
we think we have achieved most of the goals we set forth
to accomplish, even though it was hard to have all the
Yee associations and their members to get involve with
this project, for reasons unknown or due to their lack
of understanding or availability of computers,
nevertheless, we have learned a lot ourselves, never in
our dreams did we think we'd be able to get so many
reports of events and activities of the Yee
Associations, Societies, and Clans over these years.
And now, we'd like to
thank all contributors, and remind anyone who wants to
become a contributor that they can email us their
reports and photos of events and activities from their
locale.
And we thank all those

Singapore Yee Clan Mid-Autumn
Festival Celebration
The Singapore Yee Clan Mid-Autumn
Festival Celebration was held on September 6th,
2014.
There was a huge turnout of members
and their families for this function. An attendance
of 98 people was recorded. Everyone enjoyed a
wonderful buffet spread. After dinner, we went out
for a Lantern Parade around a nearby park. Da Qiang
did a good job as Master of Ceremony and he excited
the crowd with his word puzzles.
Thanks to all those who worked so
hard to make this event a success.

The Inauguration of Mr. Seng Ching
Yu as the 25th Chairman of the Yu Clan Association
of Thailand was held at the Yu Clan Association of
Thailand headquarters on September 18th.

Selangor Yu Xu Tu She 23rd
Anniversary Celebration
On the morning of Saturday 18th
October, 2014, eleven members of the Yee Clan
Association (Singapore) flew to Kuala Lumpur.
Persatuan Seketurunan Yu Xu Tu She Negeri Selangor
Darul Ehasan invited us to their 23rd Anniversary
Celebration. There was a warm welcome at KLIA2
airport. A minibus was waiting for us and we were
whisked away to Hotel Garden.
After checking into the hotel, we
had “bak kut teh” breakfast nearby with Clan
President Yu Jinfu. It was pork knuckles stewed with
herbs. Very tasty! Bak kut teh is the comfort food
to the locals. The gala dinner was held that night
at the “Dewan Persatuan Bola Keranjang Ku La
Langat”. There were about 106 tables. Delegates from
all over Malaysia were present.
Sunday 19th. We visited Yu Xu Tu She
Association premise and were very impressed with
their historical records. We visited and were
impressed with the Clan President’s mansion and Yu
Jinjiang’s magnificent palazzo. We toured a keropok
cracker factory and an organic Ganoderma Farm,
salted fish pau shop and Morid Beach. Dinner was at
a seafood restaurant along Morid Beach.
Monday 20th 9am. We drove to Kuala
Lumpur for a day tour. Places of interests were the
Observation Tower, Petronas Twin Towers, Sungei Wang
Plaza and Times Square. Around 3 pm, we left KL and
drove straight to KLIA2. At the airport, the Clan
members were there to bid us farewell. We were very
much touched by their kinship spirits and generous
comforts. A big “Thank you” to Yu Xu Tu She Clan,
Selangor.

Phoenix Yees Welcome Friends At
Picnic
October 26th, 2014, as blessed
Autumn weather took hold in the Phoenix, Arizona
area, Yees of every age welcomed many dozens of
friends, as well as quite a few first-time kindred,
to our traditional Picnic. The Ramada area in the
(Mayor) Margaret Hance Park was overflowing with
good feeling and tasty foods and beverages, both
American standbys (hamburger, hotdogs, fried
chicken) and of course the necessary Chinese
stir-fried noodles and vegetable combinations.
The nearby Japanese Friendship
Garden, thanks to free admission tickets provided by
our Adviser David M. Yee for his long-time role
among their directors, was a popular retreat
throughout the afternoon for truly a treat in
aesthetics and serenity (even if the techniques and
approaches of a Japanese garden are not quite those
of China).
It was a notable honor to all of us
Yees that so many community leaders from all the
other local organizations and associations chose to
join us on this occasion; while our Spring Festival
banquet for the Lunisolar Chinese New Year at that
bright season leading to the singular heat and sun
of our Sonoran Desert summer is also well-attended,
of course seating is limited and the atmosphere is
properly more formal. A picnic in an expansive and
lushly green municipal Park with adjacent and
plentiful recreational facilities (newly installed
in fact) for the kids cheers the heart and assaults
the ear in a notably more joy-filled way.
For two years running now, even
though we’ve increased the amount of free edibles
provided, we have fallen just short at the very
tail-end, at least for having the full variety of
choices available. To be sure, no one went hungry
for some leftovers did get boxed up; likely our
planners for 2015 will need to calculate on more
than 300 attendees just to be on the safe side.
Fortunately, the number of raffle prizes for both
adults and children were the most numerous ever –
and these too were also all won, so that re-stocking
will be another happy task to look forward to next
summer.

Yues 2014 Autumn Day Trip
Members of The Hong Kong Yue
Clansmen Association went on an Autumn
day
trip on November 8th, 2014. The itinerary
include
Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG);
followed
by a vegetarian lunch at the Miu Fat
Buddist Monastery. Also visited the
Tuen Mun Park Reptile House; Chi Lin
Nunnery and Nan Lian
Garden.

Now
that Winter is fast approaching, most chapters are
having their annual elections and celebrations. The
next issue of the Yee Fung Toy Global Village Voice
will be published in mid March, 2015, featuring
reports of Winter or New Year celebrations and
inaugurations of new Officers at Yee Fung Toy
associations around the world. Please submit your
