On the third day of the fifth lunar month, Wednesday, June 17, members of the Thailand Yu Clan Association gathered in fellowship for a solemn yet heartwarming ancestral worship ceremony, welcoming the Dragon Boat Festival two days in advance.

Filled with gratitude and blessings, the gathering offered a meaningful opportunity to honour the virtues of our ancestors, preserve our cherished traditions, and deepen the bonds that unite our clan.

May our ancestors bless all members of the Yu family with peace, good health, and harmony at home. May our clan continue to flourish, carrying its legacy forward from generation to generation. Wishing everyone peace, wellness, and a joyful Dragon Boat Festival!

A 19-member delegation from the Singapore Yee Clan Association arrived in Sibu on Friday, June 26, to attend the 45th anniversary celebration of Persatuan Klan Yii Sarawak.

Led by Singapore Yee Clan Association president Boon Kwee Ee, the delegation departed from Terminal 1 of Singapore Changi Airport on a Scoot flight and landed at Sibu Airport (SBW) in the afternoon.

The visit marks the group’s participation in a three-day programme organized to commemorate the Sarawak Association’s milestone anniversary.

Upon arrival, Sarawak Yii Clan Association chairman Chao Ren and several committee members welcomed the delegation and arranged transport to Kingwood Hotel Sibu, where the visitors checked in.

The delegation is scheduled to attend a welcome dinner on Friday evening, and an anniversary banquet the following night, bringing together clan members from various regions to renew ties and strengthen fellowship.

During their stay, the visitors are also expected to experience Sibu and Sarawak’s cultural diversity, local cuisine and natural attractions.

This afternoon, after checking in at the Kingwood Hotel Sibu, my wife and I took a short walk to a nearby park along the Rajang River. We enjoyed the riverfront scenery and Sibu’s distinctive charm, marking a pleasant start to the celebrations ahead.

The Thai Yu Clan Association recently formed a delegation and traveled to Malaysia to take part in a series of commemorative events marking the 45th anniversary of the Persatuan Klan Yii Sarawak. The visit was deeply meaningful, strengthening fellowship among clan members from different countries and highlighting the enduring bond of the Yee family.

Highlight of the Itinerary:

Opening of the Celebration: On the evening of June 26, the delegation arrived in Sibu and was invited to attend a grand welcome dinner held at the Sheraton Hotel, officially marking the beginning of the celebratory visit.

Cultural Exchange and Grand Gathering: On the morning of June 27, the delegation visited the Persatuan Klan Yii Sarawak clubhouse. In view of Sibu’s large Foochow Chinese community, the itinerary also included a special visit to the World Fuzhou Shiyi Heritage Gallery, offering deeper insight into the area’s diverse Chinese cultural heritage. That evening, the centerpiece of the celebration—the 45th anniversary commemorative banquet—was held in grand style at the Kingwood Hotel. Dozens of banquet tables filled the venue, where distinguished guests gathered. In addition to representatives from Yee clan associations across Malaysia, delegations from Thailand, Singapore, and Bandung, Indonesia also came together to share in the occasion.

Continuing Bonds of Fellowship: On June 28, the delegation proceeded to visit the Bintulu Yee Clan Association, where they were warmly received by the local president and clan members. After lunch, the group continued to the Persatuan Klan Yu Miri and, that evening, was invited to dine with several senior members of the local Fengcai Hall. Seeing these elders remain spirited and vigorous even into their nineties was both admirable and inspiring.

A Warm Welcome in Kuching: On June 29, the delegation flew to Kuching, where they were warmly welcomed by local clan members. Clan elder Yee Min Sin, owner of the Sheraton Hotel in Sibu, graciously hosted a cordial dinner at the hotel.

The five-day, four-night visit was completed smoothly and successfully. The Thai Yu Clan Association extends its sincere appreciation to President Chao Ren and the finance team of the Persatuan Klan Yii Sarawak for their thoughtful arrangements and attentive hospitality throughout the trip. This cross-border bond of kinship will remain one of the most treasured memories of the journey, and we look forward to more opportunities for exchange and cooperation in the future.

On July 4, Independence Day in the United States, members and board members of the Chicago Yee Fung Toy Family Association gathered at Half Day Forest Preserve in Vernon Hills, Illinois, to spend a warm and enjoyable time filled with community fellowship. Located about a 45-minute drive from Chicago, this peaceful and pleasant natural preserve provided a comfortable and spacious outdoor setting for the picnic gathering.

Half Day Forest Preserve covers 243 acres and features a three-acre fishing pond, picnic shelters, and a playground, making it well suited for hiking, bicycling, family gatherings, and various outdoor activities. That day, everyone gathered in nature, strengthened their bonds through friendly conversation, and enjoyed the relaxed and cheerful holiday atmosphere.

The activities were rich, lively, and enjoyable, including bingo, a cup-stacking competition, candy tossing, and a raffle. The venue was filled with laughter and excitement, leaving participating relatives, family members, and friends with happy and unforgettable memories.

The picnic meal that day was provided by Popeyes fried chicken, along with dishes from Starlight Restaurant. Located in Chicago’s Chinatown, Starlight Restaurant is a local restaurant operated by members of the Yee family, adding even more familiar hometown taste and community fellowship to the gathering.

Our heartfelt thanks go to all relatives, family members, and friends who participated in and helped prepare for this picnic, making the event full of laughter, warmth, and wonderful memories. We look forward to gathering again in the future and continuing the deep bonds, spirit of unity, and warm community traditions of the Yee family.

The Southern California Yee Fung Toy Family Association held its annual Parents’ Day and Scholarship Awards Ceremony on Saturday, July 11, at World Seafood Restaurant. The event drew 153 clan members and guests, from elders in their nineties to young families with infants, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.

This year, 18 students received Yee scholarships in recognition of their academic achievements, and two recipients received Special Service Awards. Guests shared a meal and enjoyed a joyful family gathering.

During the banquet, Elder Kwok Kon reminded senior travelers to purchase insurance for the November trip to the 9th World Yee Family Association Convention in Hong Kong, with stops in Kaiping and Taishan. He noted the premium is $69 per person and encouraged interested clan members to contact him for details.

On Sunday, July 12, we were honored to attend the 2026 Summer Picnic hosted by the Sacramento Yee Fung Toy Association at Land Park. The cool weather, strong turnout, and lively atmosphere made for a joyful gathering.

The organizers warmly welcomed everyone and arranged an enjoyable program featuring karaoke, tug-of-war, a lucky draw, and a delicious lunch.

In the evening, out-of-town guests gathered for dinner at the Far East Café, where good food and conversation helped strengthen friendship and understanding.

With the support of the leaders from the YFT US Headquarters and the YFT of Southern California Family Association, the annual picnic continues to connect branches, deepen clan ties, and promote organizational growth.

The New York Yee Fong Toy Association 2026 Summer Outing was originally scheduled for Saturday, July 18 but was postponed to Sunday, July 19 due to a forecast of severe thunderstorms.

This year’s outing was held at New York’s famous Coney Island, known for its exciting amusement park attractions and beautiful seaside views. The rescheduled day brought clear skies, a gentle breeze, and refreshing sea air. Nearly 90 clan members joined the event, including more than 20 teenagers and students. To encourage youth participation, 2025 scholarship recipients received free amusement park admission, while other young participants enjoyed half-price tickets. All attendees also received delicious lunch sets, and the day was filled with laughter and cheerful conversation.

Young participants enjoyed thrilling rides such as roller coasters and the Ferris wheel, while senior members strolled along Coney Island Beach, admired the Atlantic Ocean views, and visited nearby attractions. The outing concluded successfully in a warm and lively atmosphere, strengthening bonds among clan members and creating wonderful summer memories for all.

On July 19, 2026, the Yee Fung Toy Family Association Headquarters, U.S.A. proudly hosted its Annual Outing and English Scholarship Presentation at the San Francisco County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park.

More than 300 members and their families gathered to participate in this distinguished annual event, which celebrated the Association's enduring heritage, strengthened bonds among families, and recognized the academic excellence of the younger generation.

The program commenced with a solemn ancestral veneration ceremony honoring our revered ancestor, Yee Fung Toy, followed by welcoming remarks from Association leadership. In their addresses, the leaders expressed heartfelt appreciation to the members and their families for their steadfast support and active participation. They emphasized that such commitment remains essential to preserving the Association's traditions, fostering unity, and ensuring its continued prosperity for future generations.

A central highlight of the event was the presentation of the English Scholarship Awards to outstanding Yee students preparing to begin their college education. These scholarships recognize academic achievement, dedication, and promise. The Association extends its sincere congratulations to all recipients and wishes them continued success in their educational pursuits and future endeavors.

The Association also gratefully acknowledges the generous donors whose contributions made the scholarship program possible. Special appreciation is further extended to the many supporters who donated raffle prizes. Their generosity resulted in nearly 100 raffle prizes, which contributed significantly to the enjoyment and success of the day's activities.

Throughout the outing, the Association served more than 360 lunches, providing members and their families with an opportunity to fellowship, renew longstanding friendships, and strengthen family connections in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The 2026 Annual Outing and English Scholarship Presentation was a resounding success, bringing together multiple generations of Yee families in a spirit of unity, tradition, and community. The Association extends its deepest gratitude to all who attended, volunteered, donated, and contributed to the success of this memorable occasion. Through the collective efforts and support of its members, the Yee Fung Toy Family Association continues to uphold its proud legacy while investing in the future of the next generation. The Association looks forward to welcoming all members and families again at next year's gathering.

The New England Yee Fung Toy Association held its annual summer outing on Saturday, July 25, at AmVets Post 79 in Natick. More than 100 members and their families attended and participated in the day’s festivities.

Elders Peter Yee and Kenneth M.P. Yee graciously contributed all prize funds for the games and cash raffles.

Traditional barbecue fare was prepared by the Association’s officers and family members. The Women’s Group graciously assisted by serving the food, overseeing the game areas, and presenting prizes. Many members were also fortunate recipients of raffle prizes.

Overall, the outing was a meaningful occasion that brought members and families together in fellowship, strengthened the bonds within the Association, and reflected the continued generosity and dedication of its elders, officers, volunteers, and members.

Early this morning, Tuesday, August 11, I was delighted to receive the beautiful photos from our photographers. Seeing the Yee family gathered together—young and old, parents and children—filled our hearts with joy and gratitude. It was more than a picnic; it was a warm and meaningful family gathering.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and brought their children and grandchildren. We are especially grateful to those who prepared delicious homemade food and treats, including bowl puddings, stir-fried vegetables, chicken feet, jelly dessert, fried noodles, spaghetti, traditional deep-fried glutinous rice pastry with savory filling, macaroni, desserts, and the 72 traditional “Little Swan” Wife cakes kindly brought early in the morning by Uncle Wing Suen and his family.

Thank you also to everyone who generously donated gifts, fruit, spaghetti squash, plants, snacks, potato chips, and stationery for the children. Every contribution, big or small, was filled with kindness and care, making everyone feel included, appreciated, and blessed.

Saturday, August 8’s picnic at Monterey Highlands Park was a great success, made possible by everyone’s support, teamwork, and love for the Yee family. Thank you to all who helped, shared food, prepared gifts, took photos, and joined us. May our Yee family continue to stay united, joyful, and blessed for generations to come.

On Sunday, August 9, 2026, Washington DC Yee Fung Toy Association held its annual summer picnic gathering at Wheaton Regional Park in Silver Spring, Maryland. Although it was the height of summer and the weather was hot, with temperatures reaching 90 degrees Fahrenheit, everyone participated enthusiastically and gathered together in a warm and joyful atmosphere.

The event was lively and harmonious. Clan members reconnected with old friends, shared recent updates, and spent a pleasant and memorable weekend together amid laughter and cheerful conversation.

The successful organization of this event was made possible through the support and dedication of many members. Special thanks go to Hyo, the son-in-law of the association’s chairperson, Bik Yin, for assisting with the barbecue and preparing delicious food for everyone. Appreciation is also extended to the women of the association, who worked together to organize the event and prepare an abundance of food and beverages, contributing to the great success of this summer picnic gathering.

On Sunday, August 9, 2026, the Houston Yee Fung Toy Association hosted its 2026 HYFT Scholarship, Dim Sum, and Mahjong Event, bringing members together for an afternoon of fellowship, celebration, and community connection.

Centered on the theme “Hard work is a blessing,” the event recognized eight scholarship recipients and highlighted the Association’s ongoing commitment to education, service, heritage, and the next generation of the Yee family.

Members enjoyed dim sum, ping-pong, table air hockey, and mahjong, creating a lively, welcoming atmosphere for guests of all ages.

The Association extends heartfelt appreciation to RE/MAX agent Mrs. Dorothy Yee for her generous support, to Chairman Toby Yu for his leadership, and to the officers and volunteers—Henry, Elliot, Kevin, Sally, Sophia, Matthew, Alan, and Stanley—whose dedication helped make the event a success.

The 2026 scholarship event served as a meaningful reminder that hard work, service, and shared commitment continue to strengthen the Yee family community.

New York Yee Fong Toy Association held its 2026 Scholarship Awards Ceremony on Saturday, August 15, in the second-floor auditorium of its association hall. Thirty qualified Yu clan students, accompanied by their parents, attended the ceremony to receive their awards. The event was warm, lively, and filled with a festive atmosphere.

In keeping with tradition, this year’s scholarship program included the Special Grand Award, College Division, Junior High School Division, Elementary School Division, and Chinese Language Division, with different scholarship amounts awarded in each category. The initiative carries significant meaning for the clan community. It not only encourages students to study diligently and strive for excellence but also helps younger generations deepen their understanding of the Yee family heritage from an early age. The ceremony was hosted by Grand Advisor Gong Sum Yee. President Yu Boxi, Grand President Eastern U.S. Andy Yu, and Vice President Qian Yuan Yu delivered remarks, extending warm congratulations to the award recipients while introducing the deeds of Yee ancestors and the development of Yee Fong Toy Association. Their remarks helped strengthen younger members’ sense of belonging to the clan and pride in their Yee heritage, serving an important role in cultural education within the clan community.

During the award presentation, in addition to the leaders mentioned above, Grand Elders Kenneth Yee and Frank Yee, as well as advisors Dian Rong Yu, Jin Shao Yu, Yao Wei Yu, and Jeung On Yu, presented awards to the students. Community leader Yu Bingwen also attended the event and delivered remarks congratulating the students.

On August 15, Sacramento Yee Fung Toy Association and New York Fong Toy Association shared a meaningful connection by holding their scholarship award ceremonies on the same day. At 12 noon, Sacramento Yee Fung Toy Association gathered in the association’s meeting hall for its 2026 scholarship presentation ceremony. In his remarks, President Principal Hong Jue Yu warmly encouraged the scholarship recipients to continue working hard, strive for excellence, and build on their achievements so they may honor their parents, contribute to society, and bring pride to the community. He also encouraged the younger generation to take part in Yee Fung Toy Association activities, learn more about their family roots, understand the history of the association, and embrace Chinese culture. Above all, he reminded them of the importance of filial respect, gratitude, respect for teachers and elders, and kindness toward others. He offered his heartfelt wishes that each student will continue to move forward with confidence, go far in life, and bring honor to the Yu clan.

Following the remarks, the president personally presented certificates and scholarship awards to each student, offering encouragement and recognition for their hard work. This year, a total of 23 students received awards: 3 elementary school students, 4 middle school students, 12 high school students, and 4 university students, with $10,300 awarded in total. The recipients expressed sincere gratitude for the care, support, and encouragement they received from Fung Toy Association. They also pledged to study diligently, live up to the hopes of their parents and the community, and give back to their families and society in the future. Many also expressed their willingness to participate more actively in activities organized by Yee Fung Toy Association. The ceremony was filled with smiles, warm blessings, and a strong sense of family connection. The event concluded successfully at 1 p.m.

In a further expression of care for the elder members of the clan, Sacramento Yee Fung Toy Association distributed senior appreciation funds on August 16 to 125 clan members, including brothers, sisters, uncles, and aunties. Among the recipients, 4 elders were over 100 years old. In particular, the mother of our association adviser Guo Xi, who is 112 years old, is a wonderful blessing and a joy for the entire community to celebrate. Another 121 recipients were over the age of 75, and a total of $13,870 was distributed. Though modest, this gesture carries the association’s deep respect, appreciation, and warm wishes for the elders of the Yu clan. May all Yee clan elders enjoy good health, happiness, continued blessings year after year, and many more years of longevity and joy.

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, the Detroit Yee Fung Toy Family Association once again held our annual Summer Picnic and Scholarship Event at Boulan Park in Troy, Michigan. More than 200 Yee members and their families attended. The day began with warm greetings and fellowship among Yee family members.

Later, everyone enjoyed a delicious luncheon featuring Bourbon chicken, beef with green beans, fried rice, vegetable noodles, Church’s fried chicken, Little Caesars pizza, assorted sweet desserts, and salty snacks. To top off the meal, everyone enjoyed a variety of ice cream treats from the popular “Ice Cream Cart.”.

After lunch, organized games and competitions were held for children and adults, with prizes for all. To conclude the day, we recognized and awarded Yee Fung Toy scholarships to our young family members, with awards ranging from preschool through college. We also held a raffle for door prizes.

In addition, the Detroit Chinatown Vision Committee hosted an information booth featuring pictures of the historic Chinatowns of Detroit. As always, our picnic and scholarship event were enjoyed by Yee family members of all ages. On Sunday, August 16, 2026, in the warmth of midsummer, the Yee Fung Toy Family Association’s Portland Liaison Office gathered at Sellwood Park for a heartfelt summer picnic filled with kinship, gratitude, and joy. Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of family members and respected elders, the day was enriched by the comforting tastes of hometown delicacies, the lively spirit of a festive waist-drum performance, and the warmth of cherished conversations. Surrounded by nature and united by shared heritage, everyone enjoyed a beautiful summer day strengthening bonds, celebrating tradition, and creating lasting memories together.

The picnic offered more than a pleasant opportunity for family members to gather in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere; it also deepened bonds of friendship and kinship while carrying forward the cherished traditions of shared roots and mutual support. The warmth and unity felt that day will remain treasured in everyone’s hearts and serve as a meaningful foundation for future family association activities.

On Sunday, August 23, the Stockton Yee Fung Toy Association held its annual picnic gathering at Victory Park. Under bright sunshine, clan members, relatives, friends, and volunteers came together for a joyful and meaningful day of fellowship.

Preparations began a week in advance, with raffle prizes, supplies, and duties carefully arranged. On the morning of the event, volunteers prepared food, transported tables, chairs, prizes, and supplies, and decorated the site with banners and colorful flags. Everyone worked together smoothly, showing the strong unity and caring spirit of the Association.

At 11:00 a.m., twelve representatives from the San Francisco Yee Fung Toy Association, including its chairman, grand advisers, and advisers, arrived with warm support and encouragement. Soon after, more clan members and friends arrived with their families, filling the park with laughter, conversation, and cheerful energy despite the warm weather.

The program opened with singing, followed by remarks from Chairman Yihua and a vote of thanks from Vice Chair Siu Kuen. The Association gratefully acknowledged the generous donations of homemade foods, desserts, fruit, sushi, fried chicken, cash, wine, and raffle prizes from many clan members and friends, making the gathering even warmer and more abundant.

During lunch, everyone enjoyed delicious food while chatting and listening to music. Afterward, the much-anticipated raffle began with help from the children’s volunteer team. Nine cash prizes and seventy-one gifts were awarded amid cheers, smiles, and applause.

At 2:30 p.m., the picnic at Victory Park came to a successful close with cheerful farewells of “See you next year.” The celebration continued at 5:00 p.m. at China Palace Restaurant, where out-of-town guests, local clan members, volunteers, and friends shared more laughter, singing, dancing, and blessings of health and happiness.

This gathering was more than a picnic; it was a meaningful celebration of fellowship, unity, and mutual support. Thank you to every clan member, friend, and volunteer who contributed to this special day. May this warmth continue year after year, and we look forward to gathering again next year.

On Sunday, August 23, 2026, the Salt Lake Yee Fung Toy Family Association held its annual summer picnic at Sugar House Park, the crown jewel of Salt Lake City’s public green spaces. Kin, friends, and guests gathered in celebration, and Western Grand President Sherman Yu and his wife made a special trip from San Francisco to attend, adding warmth and joy to the summer gathering.

On the day of the event, Utah State Senator Karen Kwan attended in person and shared a wonderful time with the association’s members and friends. Mrs. Fong Li Yu Ha, a respected 97-year-old member of the association, also joined the picnic with more than a dozen family members spanning three generations, reflecting the deep bonds of family. Guests greeted one another, exchanged stories, and filled the park with laughter.

After the program began, advisor Margaret Yee and President Benson Yee delivered remarks, thanking kin and friends for their long-standing support of the association. They also expressed their commitment to organizing more activities in the future, creating additional opportunities for members to gather, connect, and strengthen their fellowship.

In his remarks, Western Grand President Sherman Yu extended warm greetings to the Salt Lake City kin and friends and congratulated everyone on the success of the event. His presence fully reflected the close ties and deep fellowship shared among members from different regions.

After lunch, the program included a scholarship presentation for members’ children. Ten young recipients were awarded scholarships in recognition of their academic efforts and to encourage the younger generation to study diligently and continue striving for progress. The raffle that followed brought the atmosphere to a lively peak, with an abundance of prizes bringing surprise and laughter throughout the gathering.

The event also featured a special performance by soprano Ms. Liu Wan. Her beautiful singing received enthusiastic applause from the audience and added a rich artistic touch to the gathering.

Though gatherings may be brief, fellowship endures. At the end of the event, everyone gathered for a group photo, with bright smiles capturing the happiness of being together and bearing witness to the deep and precious ties among the members.

This summer picnic was not only a relaxed and joyful gathering, but also an important occasion for strengthening connections and deepening the bonds among kin. The Yee Fung Toy Family Association extends its sincere thanks to Western Grand President Sherman Yu and his wife for traveling from afar, as well as to advisor Margaret Yee, President Benson Yee, advisor Adrian Yee, Vice President Howard Yee, community representative Annie Ma, and all kin, friends, staff, and volunteers for their enthusiastic participation and support.
